I just wanted to say my sister is named Luthien and I think it's a great name. Report Abuse

Reply:Supermans` adversarys` daughter.
Reply:I am not sure how u pronounce this. If it is pronounced

Loo-thi-en, then Lukieni or perhaps Lukiena. If it is pronounced some other way, then the Hawaiian may change accordingly.
Reply:in hawaiian it means: "oh god what a stupid name i'd never possibly translate that" but seeing as luthien originates from lucian and that from lucifer perjhaps u could try the hawaiian word for devil or anti christ? lol seriously what were u guys thinking???
Reply:In Hawaiian in would be Lukieni as another also answered. The only meaning that I know of is the one in Tolkien's work of The Silmarillion, where the elven maiden Luthien married the mortal Beren.

In Tolkien's contrived elven languages, it either meant [according to different dialects] "blossom" or "enchantress". Tolkien derived the name from the Old English word Lufien, which means "love".
Reply:Since it has no meaning in English , this would be difficult!
