Translate my cat's hawaiian name?

I just adopted an adroable eight-year old whose name is Palu. I've been told that it is the verb "to lick" in Hawaiian. It fits perfectly because licking is her favorite habit. She wakes me up licking my face or arm. If I leave a plastic bag lying around, she licks it until I take it away from her (she has a werid obsession with plastic bags).

Does anybody know if the translation is correct?

Translate my cat's hawaiian name?
IT means CRAZY, GATO ! ! !
Reply:No, it means 'Mighty ferocious cat, born from volcano god, sent to lick all that moves on earth...' :-)
Reply:A palo is the name traditionally given in the flamenco environment for the different musical forms that constitute the traditional musical.
