What are those trees names that the Hawaiian Leis' are made from called?

I have a Leis tree or shrub not sure what to call it the lady that gave me a start of it called it a tree. And I have been looking for information on care and matenience for this plant but can't find any information about it. So if anyone out there in cyberspace knows what type of plant I am talking about or how to care for these plants I would love to hear from you. Thanks so much Belle

lei is the generic hawaiian word for flower garland. There is no such thing as a leis tree.

What does it look like? What do the flowers look like? That would be extremely helpful information.
Reply:Are you talking about plumeria? It's also known as frangipani. The white, yellow, or red flowers that smell so wonderful?

Everything you need to know about growing Plumeria
Reply:Plumerias. We lived on kaneohe marine base and had one in the back yard. They are pretty easy to take care of in HI, but am not sure how easy they would be elsewhere. But that is the most usual flower used. Good luck with growing it.
Reply:Hibiscus flowers.
Reply:I think you might be talking about Plumerias. The cuttings from these trees just look like sticks. The flowers come in a number of color combinations, but the most popular are yellow %26amp; white. Contact a Hawaiian horticultural concern online, they should be able to help you.
