What's your Hawaiian name??

mine's Kaniele=Danielle

What's your Hawaiian name??
Aloha Kaniele...my daughters name is Danielle (Kaniele)as well...

Mine is Mikala (Michelle)

My other daughter is Kailoli (Taylor)

My sons I don't know (How Saddd) LOL

His Haole name is Erick....so does anyone know what Erick is in Hawai'ian?
Reply:The Hawaiianized-American version of my name (Tara) is Kali. However, the REAL Hawaiian translation would probably be 'Aina, which means "earth." Tara is Gaelic for earth, so that is the literal translation.

Danielle is from the Hebrew and means "God is my judge." The Hawaiian equivalent is 'O Ke Akua Ka'u Luna Kanawai. Yeah, it's long and you won't find it on a coffee mug or a keychain, but that's the LITERAL translation. :)

Erick (and all of its variations, including Erika) are from the Scandinavian and mean "ever-ruling and regal." Pali Loa is the Hawaiian translation as it means a distant cliff and is used figuratively to mean regal and aristocratic.

Michelle - may be a flower name derived from the Michaelmas daisy. The Hawaiian translation is 'Ihi Lani, which means heavenly splendor.

Taylor - couldn't find anything. Sorry, Michelle. :(

Lorraine - The book says "Lorraine is from the Old French and means one who comes from the town of Lorraine. We can find no Hawaiian equivalent for this name."
Reply:so you're asking what our first name is after it's translated to hawaiian? i've been told that my first name andralia-lei translates to anakalalia-lei. people born and raised in hawaii usually give their children middle names that are hawaiian. traditionally a hawaiian name was given to you by an elder or kupuna. he/she probably dreamed about the name or has an other reason for giving it to you. my hawaiian name is kamaileonamauna and it means maile lei from the mountain. i really don't know if my name was dreamed about...i think my family just gave it to me because it had mauna at the end...which means mountain. my two brothers and i each have names that end in mauna so it's pretty cool!

well, kaniele hope your week is going lovely...take care and aloha!!

edit...

Erick - Elikeke

Ericka - Elikeka
Reply:lol, my friends name is danielle, so i poke fun because the hawaiian name "kaniele" could also mean "the nosy"

well, mine keanuenueonalani which means the rainbow from the heavens
Reply:Kukui'ala

Which means "The one who holds the light" or "The one who leads the way."
Reply:Alihikaua = Brianna. It's not a transliteration but is as close to the meaning in both languages as possible.
Reply:My name is Erika. What Erika in hawaiian.
Reply:i dont have a hawaiian first name but my hawaiian middle name is lorraine for loleina
Reply:Jordan Craig - Iolakana Kaika
Reply:Don't have one for my name but I would like Na Pali
Reply:I use my middle name Suzanne, which is Ku'ana.
